[Margaret Morison McGUFFIE was not born on South Ronaldsay, but lived there from
the late 1830s till 1851-52, before emigrating to Australia in September of 1852 with
her new husband, William Horne TOMISON.  Margaret gave a speech at the laying of
the foundation stone of the new school rooms of Tomison's Academy in 1851.  She was
 the eldest daughter of the Reverend Peter McGUFFIE and his 1st wife, Agnes MORISON.]
